SAP Business One Update: Spring 2026

SAP Business One continues to be SAP’s best-selling ERP solution with around 10 new customers a day selecting to work with the popular end-to-end application. Speaking in his annual review of SAP’s SME Portfolio 2025/2026

, Rainer Zinow, Development Executive at SAP, revealed that more than 83,000 companies now use the solution to manage end-to-end processes with approximately 1.2 million daily users utilising automation and AI tools to help simplify operations.

“SAP Business One is growing fast,” Ranier said. “The key reason why SAP Business One is growing so fast is the web client”.

SAP Business One Web Client: The best of both worlds

The web client was released as part of SAP Business One Version 10. Initially, launched with sales, reporting and finance functions available, the web client’s functionality has been expanded and developed in recent years.

“We are coming to the end of the transition from the traditional Business One desktop client to the B1 web client, which you operate in a browser,” Rainer explained.

“The good news is we now have about 80% coverage of all of the business capabilities (within the desktop version) you can reach with the web client. There is the final stretch which needs to be done, and SAP is on its way,” he added.

Web Client Extensions

Another reason why SAP Business One is so popular with growing businesses is the opportunity to use certified eco-system solutions. This enhances core features within SAP and allows companies to build powerful industry-specific solutions without expensive customisations.

“The secret source of SAP Business One is all of the partner extensions,” Rainer said. He added that a number of popular ecosystem partners are already using the web client extensibility tools to ensure compatibility ahead of the full release of SAP Business One Version 11.

“SAP Business One can only be as powerful as we all want to have it,” he said.

SAP Business One Version 11 update

SAP aims to have full desktop coverage within the web client when SAP Business One Version 11 is released in 2027. This will provide an enhanced and simplified experience for users.

The planning phase for Version 11 is now complete, with SAP aiming to introduce a new generation of cloud management tools. Rainer said: “The good news is that we are done with the UI, we are done with the business capabilities; the focus of B1 V11 will be more on lifecycle management.”

These lifecycle product management enhancements include optimising deployment and upgrade cycles using AI and automation, unifying system landscape directories, and 5LD for smoother lifecycle management operations.
