What’s next for SAP Business One: August 2025

Last month at SEIDOR’s SAP Business One User Day 2025, Peter Dominik, Vice President and Global Head of SAP Business One Product Management, gave delegates an exclusive update on the product’s road map and innovation highlights.

SAP Business One continues to be SAP’s leading ERP solution for growing small businesses and the lower midmarket, with more than 80,000 companies running the application globally.

Peter again outlined SAP’s commitment to invest and develop SAP Business One with a clear roadmap for the future. Here are some of the highlights and key takeaways from his keynote presentation.

Web client acceleration

SAP has invested heavily in the Version 10 Web Client since its initial launch. Additional developments are planned to enhance the exiting range of functionality and analytics now available. Peter encouraged users to incorporate the web client into company and daily activities to fully utilise these new tools.
New features that are in development include integration enhancements for Microsoft and Office 365, plus new tools to extend business logic coverage across sales and purchasing, finance, service, inventory, products, production and HR modules.
Fresh innovation and content are expected to be released in feature packs and patch updates across the rest of the year and into 2026, Peter said.

AI in SAP Business One

AI was a much-discussed topic during the User Day. Peter outlined how SAP has developed their own Artificial Intelligence services and tools, such as document information extraction using SAP AI Service, running on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), to leverage machine learning to streamline processing of invoices from vendors, as one example.
Other innovative tools for B1 users were also discussed highlighting how these tools can automate key processes to eliminate the potential for any human errors – and to dramatically improve levels of efficiency.
Peter also highlighted how SAP Business One’s extensibility options make the solution ready for the adoption of exciting AI services. This opens options for end users and their partners to develop tailored AI solutions and agents that leverage the latest in generative AI technology. “Each customer has the freedom to choose the appropriate solution to meet that customer’s needs,” Peter added.

SAP Business One Version 11

The release of SAP Business One Version 11 is planned for 2027, Peter said. The next major version of B1 will introduce a new generation of cloud management tools.
These tools will help users to simplify any updates of SAP Business One and the initial implementation of the solution. They will also complement and simplify cloud-native integrations to provide smooth connectivity into popular tools such as SharePoint, Google Drive or OneDrive.
New functionality for Version 11 is expected to include continuous web client enhancements, item variants and BOM versioning options.
