SEIDOR participates in Codefest

A programming competition that brings together students, educational centres and companies.

More than 75 boys and girls from four schools in the Osona region of Catalonia participated in the first edition of Codefest, a programming competition organised by OsonaTicTalent with the support of Creacció. Three hours of coding and competition accompanied by music, prizes and technology companies looking for talent and young programmers.

Codefest is an event that aims to make the quality of Vocational Training in the field of technology more visible. This quality was demonstrated by the high level of work produced by the 75 participating programmers, who competed for 3 hours to win one of the top 3 positions.

In this way, the initiative aims indirectly to increase academic enrolments in this area and to encourage the development of technology talent in the Osona region of Catalonia.

Participants had to solve as many of the12 coding challenges as possible in the time available. Made up of three people per team, participants came from the four VET schools that offer training in the field of technology in the local area. Members of OsonaTicTalent from el Escorial de Vic, la Salle de Manlleu, el Cirviànum de Torelló and Teknos de Vic were also involved.

The three winning teams were "Logic Legends" from La Salle de Manlleu, "Teknos 1" from Teknos de Vic, and "VDLC" from La Salle de Manlleu.

The event was attended by companies from the sector, former students of the programme, and hosted by Xènia Casado.

This initiative was developed by OsonaTICTalent, a space for work and collaboration between education providers and companies in the region committed to the development of new technology talent with the technical support of Creacció. It is currently comprised of four educational centres and more than 15 companies from Osona.
